Administration Decries 'Democrat Hoax' as More Jeffrey Epstein Photos Released
House Democrats have released a additional set of what they described as "disturbing" pictures from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, including notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 images—a portion of which have been seen before—combined with another 70 issued later on Friday constitute a tiny fraction of the nearly 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is probing the actions and ties of Epstein.
The disgraced financier was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking offenses.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Featured among the notable figures visible in the initial batch are celebrities featuring movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
White House Reaction
The White House addressed the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for political purposes and to "attempt to fabricate a false account."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been time and again refuted," an administration official said, insisting that "the Trump administration has done more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by frequently urging transparency, making public numerous documents of records, and urging further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Panel Member Comment
The photographs were published lacking captions, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's associations with affluent people.
"The moment has come to end this White House concealment and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he said in a comment.
The publication of these documents occurs alongside the oversight committee pressing on with its investigation into the affair.
