Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and was released during October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for celebrating violence and insanity with the same enthusiasm, all while weaving gripping, politically driven narratives. No wonder then that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry seasonal program brought on board two creators whose creations have represented all of those things.

What to Expect

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game property, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by having a different backdrop and ensemble in every instalment.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared excellent collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

What’s Next

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new long-term contract with the showrunner.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX team always encourages me with their steady confidence and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a take of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” noted Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can change from year to year, while always delving into the essence of society through this intricate and turbulent perspective, is a long-held aspiration. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our mutual irreverent, ambitious approach to the screen.”

A time frame for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
